Ever sat out on the porch on a nice evening, looked at the stars and wondered “wouldn’t it be great if….”. I listened to an author speaker I follow this morning and she spoke about her teams ritual of answering this question out loud as a way of staying creative.
I think this practice is brilliant. You know, now that most of us are all grown up and are mortgaged up, car payments, braces, and taking care very practical and necessary things, I think we lose our imagination. For me to set around and daydream is pretty natural. My 8 year old and I are kindred spirits when it comes to making up fantastic stories and creating the future just for fun. But in a very real sense I have been saying “Wouldn’t it be great if..” most of my adult life
Now I find myself saying, “wouldn’t it be great if Rockin H made my living”. “Wouldn’t it be great if I were able to help a 1,000 more people make a memory or have the confidence to chase a dream”. I can see that so clearly what is looks like in a year and five years and the thoughts are energizing. While the dreams are not fully realized it is wonderful to be in this process and to be surrounded by like minded people here at Rockin H and to read great work by people like Maria Forleo, Pat Flynn, James Wedmore, Seth Godin, and Kevin Miller who live their lives answering daily with imagination, guts and courage.
I challenge you to answer this question in the comment box “wouldn’t it be great if…” I am answering in my own way through Rockin H. I hope you join me in your own adventure. The inspiration for the blog post is below. Click the image to visit Maria’s blog post.
